Fiona Thow
Managing Director, Review & Redesign Solutions, UK
Qualifying as a radiographer in 1987 Fiona held several leadership roles in radiology before moving into quality improvement in 2000. She has designed and led a range of national, regional and local improvement programmes across diagnostic services. These roles have included imaging, audiology, endoscopy, physiology diagnostic services and genomics. Other work involved leading the early work on 7-day service delivery models and establishing the Patient Safety Collaboratives. In her previous role as Head of Imaging services transformation at NHS England and NHS Improvement she was instrumental in implementing the national imaging data collection, which informed the redesign of imaging services and was heavily involved in developing the Imaging Strategy, published in November 2019. Other achievements included gaining capital funding for the replacement of ageing capital assets and supporting national efforts for imaging during wave 1 of the Covid 19 pandemic. She now works as an independent management consultant with several imaging networks and other clients in diagnostic services. This gives her the knowledge and understanding of some of the challenges of delivering imaging networks and of the broader system context in which imaging networks will need to operate, to align with Community Diagnostic Hubs (CDH’s) in order to be successful. She is passionate about delivering the best services for patients and supports the idea of services closer to home.

Dr. Giovanni Delgrossi
Head of the IT Department at ASST Vimercate, Italy
Dr. Giovanni Delgrossi is Director of the Information Systems Complex Unit since 2002 and is focused on the Design and Development of Information Systems in the Hospital and Territorial area, in order to favor the progressive digitization of the diagnosis, treatment and assistance processes and the implementation of integrated and shared paths for taking charge of the clients in the company territory. Dr. Delgrossi has always been committed to promoting the identification of technologies and application solutions most suitable for the creation of digital services for the management and communication of clinical data and Patient’s information. Over the years he has been a forerunner in the management of complex projects with a significant impact on the hospital organization and business processes. He has gained direct experience in the definition of hospital information systems architectures with particular reference to the integration of systems and technologies aimed at the progressive dematerialisation of all healthcare processes. In this sense, the implementation of the Electronic Medical Record project in complex healthcare organizations with the use of technologies for mobility and computerized clinical decision support solutions was of particular importance. Most important was the implementation, starting from 2007, of the PACS project for the digitization of radiological Services, to which the Artificial Intelligence solution applied to Covid-19 patient cases was recently integrated. Giovanni Delgrossi is also an external member of the health reform working group for the implementation of the Regional Law 23/2015 at the General Direction for Health of the Lombardy Region. He is an active member of the "HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 & 7 Club" made up of the CIOs of the most digitized hospitals in Europe and the organizing committee of the "HIMSS Italian Community" to promote the use and adoption of information and communication technologies in the Italian healthcare sector. He also is an active member of the "Advisory Board" of the Digital Innovation Observatory in Health of the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano.
